EARWAX REMOVAL

CERUMEN MANAGEMENT

Treating hearing loss can sometimes be as simple as getting your ears cleaned. Earwax can become impacted and press against the eardrum, which can affect your hearing.

Earwax (cerumen), a waxy substance secreted in the ear canal, is there for a reason — to clean and protect the skin of your ear canal from debris, bacteria and water. Over time, wax can build up in your ear canal, harden and become stuck, despite your best efforts to clean it out. Using a cotton swab can actually make the situation worse by pushing the wax in deeper. You can’t feel this buildup, but it can lead to temporary hearing loss.

Complex procedures can take up to 30-40 minutes and typically involves administering Cerumol followed up by gentle flushing. Multiple flushing treatments may be required.

We offer safe and effective methods for ear wax removal. Our staff are trained and certified in ear wax removal.

Call us to schedule a visit. We’ll check your ears and can unplug them right away, if need be.
